About St Ives
This port was renowned as one of Cornwall’s finest fishing towns for most of its history, but in the last few centuries, St Ives has undergone a transformation into one of the UK’s finest seaside towns, and a haven for artists and authors.
Its coastal position makes St Ives’ four beaches ideal for watersports like surfing and sea kayaking. The Coastal Path is also a brilliant way to explore the area by foot, and really take in all the natural wonders of Cornwall.
Overlooking Porthmeor Beach, Tate St Ives is one of the most popular attractions in the area. And if you have a passion for art, there’s also the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden and the Leach Pottery to explore, as well as St Ives many galleries.
Further afield, there are more treasures to be found, from country homes to the Minack open air theatre, boat trips and tours to the Eden Project.
