St. Ives September Festival

12th - 26th May 2026

St Ives really comes alive in September.

What began life in a kitchen back in 1977 has grown into one of the brightest and best-loved festivals in the country. The St Ives September Festival is a two-week celebration of all things culture, extending the season with a packed programme of events right on our doorstep.

Whether your interests lie in music, film, art, spoken word or comedy, there’s always something happening. Daily performances pop up around town, from galleries and theatres to unexpected seaside spots, creating a wonderful buzz that carries through the streets.

The festival is also a brilliant way to explore St Ives’ rich artistic heritage. You can delve into the town’s cultural history at a talk, watch a demonstration, or even discover a new passion — from pottery to poetry.

And when you’re ready to pause, the local pubs join in the celebrations, offering the perfect place to relax with a pint of local ale and soak up the atmosphere before deciding what to see next.

If you’re visiting during the festival, we highly recommend taking a look at the programme and booking ahead where possible. If you’d like any tips or recommendations during your stay, we’re always happy to help you make the most of this very special time in St Ives
