Seaquest Southwest Dawn ’til Dusk Sea Watch
Cornwall Wildlife Trust Seaquest South West is hosting its second ‘Dawn till Dusk’ marine wildlife event right here in beautiful St Ives on .
Taking place from 6:15am to 8:30pm on the platform at St Ives Island, overlooking the bay below the NCI station, this special event is perfect for anyone interested in marine wildlife, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned enthusiast. Led by experienced Seaquest coordinators and local marine experts, the day involves settling into a sea-watching session and scanning the water for wildlife sightings, with time for breaks throughout. You may be lucky enough to spot seals, dolphins or even whales, all while contributing to valuable community science research that supports marine conservation.
We suggest bringing a hot drink in a flask, snacks and binoculars if you have them. Warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear are essential, as the event takes place on an exposed seafront where the weather can be unpredictable and the ground uneven. Safety is a top priority, so wrapping up warm and coming prepared is important.
Everyone is welcome, making this a wonderful activity for families, individuals and nature lovers alike. If you’re staying with us that weekend, it’s a fantastic opportunity to experience Cornwall’s incredible coastline and connect with the ocean in a truly meaningful way
